The Fresno County Sheriff's Office runs the county jail system from a single downtown complex on M Street. City police departments across the county, from Fresno PD to the smaller city forces, generally transport adult arrestees there for booking. That is why, no matter which city the arrest happened in, the bond is almost always handled through the downtown jail. Minors are the exception and are taken to the Juvenile Justice Campus instead.
